Are you – or is someone you know – a caregiver for a loved one struggling with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other memory-related challenges? A new award from the Masonic Homes will recognize Bay Area caregivers who are making an extraordinary difference caring for loved ones with cognitive impairments.

Nominations are now being accepted for the new Luminary Caregiver Awards, which include recognition in three categories:

  • Homer Harlan Millennial Luminary Award
Recognizes a young caregiver who has sacrificed school, work, and other obligations to help care for a loved one coping with dementia.
  • John A. Charland Jr. Luminary Innovation Award
Recognizes a caregiver who uses technology in an innovative way to help ensure safety and improve quality of life for a loved one coping with dementia.
  • Inspirational Luminary Award
Every caregiver has a powerful story about supporting a loved one’s battle against dementia. This award recognizes a caregiver whose extraordinarily compassionate service is a source of inspiration to others.

Entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges from the Masonic Home at Union City and local community. Winners will receive a complimentary ticket to the first annual Alzheimer and Dementia Caregiver Recognition Gala at the Masonic Home on June 30, 2017. This elegant evening event will include a delicious banquet dinner and opportunities to participate in a silent auction of donated prizes.

To nominate yourself or a loved one in the Bay Area for this award, please complete and return the entry form by June 9, 2017.
