HarvestFest Brings Fun and Fraternity

On September 16, more than 1,000 fraternal family members from around Northern California gathered at the Masonic Home at Union City to participate in the annual HarvestFest celebration. This fun Masonic family event brought together brothers, brothers’ families, Masonic youth, and local community leaders for a day filled with delicious food, entertainment for all ages, and a healthy dose of fellowship.

Guests enjoyed a barbecue lunch and festival treats – including the immensely popular deep fried oreos – while immersed in the upbeat melodies of country and bluegrass music. The Masonic Homes Ukulele Group and Masonic Homes Bell Choir treated guests to special performances. Children were thrilled by face painting, a petting zoo, bounce houses, and pony rides. Masonic Homes and Acacia Creek residents sold handmade crafts and gave tours of the campus.

Special guests included Deputy Grand Master Bruce Galloway, Junior Grand Warden John Trauner, Vice chairman of the Masonic Homes Board of Trustees Michael Cornell, Trustee Garrett Chan, Associate Grand Lecturer of Division III Tony Cimarra, City Manager of the Union City Council Tony Acosta, and Captain Gloria Lopez-Vaughan of the City of Union City Police Department.

The Masonic Homes thanks everyone who made this year’s festivities a success!
